In exactly one week, on October 1, 2021, Berlin will be enriched by another digital attraction: Then we will celebrate the “official opening” of 20s.BERLIN at Berlin EAST SIDE MALL. As befits a real world premiere, for a brief moment exclusively with the participants, supporters and sponsors. Only one day later 20s.BERLIN will be open to the broad public.

Of course, we are already on site, setting up, installing, wiring and testing for all we are worth. And we’re pretty sure there’s more to come than just this one night shift. Because the technical set-up for a project like 20s.BERLIN is no small feat! You probably asked yourselves how we aim to present our virtual reality time travel? After all, it is freely accessible and thus it’s of some importance to avoid that the time travelers accidentally run into each other. Hygiene regulations are also being added at the moment. Compliance with these regulations must also be ensured. Perhaps you would also like to know how we are going to accommodate all the technology in a mobile unit? As close to the historical original as possible – like everything in and around 20s.BERLIN
In the 1920s you could find one of these colorful advertising pillars on every street corner. They didn’t seem too difficult to recreate either. So we commissioned Alexander Hamm and his company die Holzköpfe to build such a pillar. The result impressed us deeply. Especially since we placarded our gem with 1920s motifs. The only difference to the original are the outriggers for our goggles thanks to wich we can safely avoid collisions and reliably maintain distances – and of course the rather complex inner workings…
